Research: critical, ethical, and transformative education
Research holds a central place in the institutional mission of Fundação Escola Superior do Ministério Público (FMP). We understand that scientific production is an essential tool for the critical, ethical, and transformative education of our students and for strengthening society as a whole.
At FMP, research is not an isolated process: it is integrated with teaching and outreach, weaving together knowledge and contributing to the advancement of Law and to the enforcement of non-negotiable rights. This commitment guides our activities in undergraduate and graduate programs and in our undergraduate research programs, establishing FMP as an environment of reflection, innovation, and collective knowledge-building.
Our Commitment to Legal Research
Research at FMP seeks to understand and propose solutions to the contemporary challenges of Law, with particular attention to social needs and the promotion of citizenship. Our research projects and groups engage with emerging and structural issues in Brazilian society, always grounded in scientific rigor and institutional responsibility.
Research Lines
The research activities of FMP's Master's Program are organized around two fundamental lines, which guide academic output and encourage the participation of students and faculty:
Protection for the Enforcement of Unconditioned Public Rights
Addresses the protection of fundamental rights and state action against violations, with emphasis on public policy, security, the environment, and the fight against corruption.
Protection for the Enforcement of Transindividual Rights
Investigates the defense of collective, diffuse, and homogeneous individual rights, focusing on access to information, transparency, consumer law, the environment, and social participation.
Research Groups
FMP maintains Research Groups certified by CNPq, bringing together faculty, students, and outside researchers around current and relevant topics. These groups are privileged spaces for exchange, investigation, and scientific development.
