I EGRUPE - 2017

The event took place on December 5, 2018, at the premises of Fundação Escola Superior do Ministério Público. Its goal is to foster internal dialogue between faculty and students of the Stricto Sensu Graduate Programs in Law at FMP, UNISC, UNIVALI, and UNESC, thereby contributing to the improvement of ongoing research projects within the research lines of their respective programs, as well as to the exchange of knowledge and relationships among researchers from the participating Institutions, and to encourage interaction between faculty and Master's students and undergraduate Law students.

Working Group 01 - Public Policy on Fundamental Rights and Jurisdiction: shifting interconnections. This GT aims to discuss public policy on human rights, judicial activism, and constitutional jurisdiction in this field, always assessing concrete cases — including international ones, with our partners — for the exchange of experience and comparative law studies.

Working Group 02 - State, Market, and Society: equations of balance. This GT aims to address the complex problems affecting today's Risk Society, particularly issues touching on diffuse and collective rights at the local, regional, national, and international levels, some of them deeply interconnected, and the solutions Law has to offer.

Working Group 03 - Public Security and Criminal Policy: the expansion of criminal intervention in contemporary society. This GT aims to address the expansion of criminal intervention through substantive and procedural means, driven by the new risks and security demands of today's Risk Society, addressing local, regional, national, and international problems, some of them deeply interconnected, and the solutions Law has to offer.
