II EGRUPE - 2018
The Meeting of Research Groups emerged within FMP's Graduate Program in Law, aiming to foster dialogue among different research groups and joint academic output. In its first edition, two Working Groups (GTs) were held, one for each of the Program's research lines, presenting work representative of FMP's PPGD Research Groups.
In this second edition, the Meeting's scope expanded beyond FMP's Master's Program, with the participation of research groups under development in the Graduate Programs of the University of Santa Cruz do Sul (UNISC) and the University of Extremo Sul Catarinense (UNESC). The event, held at FMP in October 2018, featured four GTs covering three thematic lines representative of the research lines of the Graduate Programs involved: (GT01) public policy on fundamental rights and jurisdiction: shifting interconnections; (GT02) State, market, and society: equations of balance; and (GT03) public security and criminal policy: the expansion of criminal intervention in contemporary society. In total, fifty-four papers were presented, of which thirty-nine were accepted for publication in the event proceedings. These numbers show strong academic engagement and the success of a working methodology capable of fostering academic ties between the Graduate Programs whose thematic lines are related, as well as internal dialogue among faculty and students of the Stricto Sensu Graduate Programs in Law at FMP, UNISC, and UNESC.
In this way, the Meeting seeks to contribute to the improvement of ongoing research projects within the research lines of their respective programs; to promote the exchange of knowledge and relationships among researchers from the participating Institutions; and to encourage interaction between faculty and Master's students and undergraduate Law students.
