Held from August 4 to 8, 2026, at Cais Embarcadero in Porto Alegre, the 5th edition of Cidade da Advocacia has established itself as one of the country’s leading legal events. Created by the OAB/RS in 2022, the event was conceived with the goal of going beyond the traditional format of a legal conference, bringing together—in a single space—knowledge, innovation, networking, and experiences focused on the legal community.
Over the course of five days, the program drew 37,000 registrants, spread across an expanded venue that featured 15 simultaneous stages and more than 50 service areas. There were more than 250 lectures and activities, totaling approximately 500 hours of concurrent content, with discussions spanning different areas and perspectives of law.
The institution’s presence reinforces its commitment to legal education that is aligned with market changes and to fostering closer ties between academia, professionals, and society. During the event, FMP faculty members and representatives took part in the program, expanding opportunities for dialogue and connection with students, professionals, and other participants.
For Dr. Luciano de Faria Brasil, president of the Foundation, this participation also marks an important moment for the legal profession and for the institution itself:

FMP’s participation in Cidade da Advocacia also coincided with a special moment for the firm: the unveiling of its new brand, which now visually reflects a commitment to the evolution of the law and to training professionals who are prepared for the field’s new challenges.
For Dr. Frederico Freitas, coordinator of the college’s undergraduate law program, FMP’s participation in the event reinforced the institution’s commitment to the various career paths available within the legal field.
“This FMP event demonstrates that we care about all legal careers. And at this event, we experienced something very special: a fresh new look, a more organized event, with more faculty members from our institution participating in lectures, and an opportunity to connect even more closely with our target audience—our students and those who engage with the law on a daily basis.”
The participation of the institution’s faculty members in the program expanded FMP’s academic presence at the event and helped bring the institutional community closer to an environment that brings together different generations and professional profiles within the legal field. For students, Cidade da Advocacia also represents an opportunity to broaden their horizons, explore different career paths, and engage with discussions that are already impacting—or will impact—their professional practice.
Participation in the 5th edition of Cidade da Advocacia marks yet another opportunity for FMP to establish an institutional presence, build relationships, and exchange knowledge. At an event marked by discussions on innovation, technology, new career paths, and transformations in legal practice, the institution reaffirmed its mission to train professionals who are prepared to understand and participate in the evolution of the law.
FMP brought to the event what has been a hallmark of its history: knowledge, people, and a legal education in tune with the times.
This edition of “The City of Law” has come to a close, but the discussions that began over these five days live on in the places where the law continues to be shaped—in classrooms, law offices, institutions, courts, and, above all, in the work of those who have chosen to be part of this transformation.
The FMP was there. And it continues to move forward, keeping pace with and participating in the evolution of the law.
